Throwing a Mickey Mouse themed party is a magical way to bring joy and excitement to any celebration! Here’s how I transformed a simple room into a mini-Mouseketeer wonderland with easy DIY decor, fun activities, and a delightful cake for the ultimate Mickey experience.
Mickey Mouse Cake
I kept the cake design simple yet magical. With a red and white color scheme, the cake resembles Mickey's iconic outfit, complete with miniature figures of Mickey and Pluto as toppers. The glittery "Two" topper (perfect for a 2nd birthday) adds an extra sparkle, making it picture-perfect. We placed the cake on a rustic wooden slab for a warm, vintage look. For a twist, you could try cupcakes decorated with Mickey ears or add more figurines of Minnie, Goofy, or Donald! I just used a store bought cake & used the icing from the cake, and coloured it red and got white sprinkles.

DIY Tip: You can make your own "Mickey" topper with colored cardstock and glitter. Just print and cut the shape, attach it to sticks, and you’ve got a festive topper that pops!

Mickey Mouse Fruit Tray
For a healthy and colorful option, this Mickey Mouse-inspired fruit tray is a hit with both kids and parents! Start with a large round bowl or plate and fill it with two main colors of fruit to create Mickey's face shape.
In this setup, we've used:

Blackberries for the top half, forming Mickey’s ears.
Strawberries for the lower half to add vibrant color.
On either side, use smaller bowls filled with blueberries for the iconic Mickey ears. This presentation keeps it fresh, fun, and themed, while also providing a nutritious snack that kids will love to dig into!

I put both green and purple grapes on a stick to represent Goofy!
Take small red cups and glue on yellow buttons to create Mickey's iconic pants look—perfect for serving little popcorn treats!

Mickey Shaped Cookies and Treats
No Mickey-themed party is complete without some iconic Mickey Mouse-shaped cookies! Here’s how to make them extra special:

Number Cookies: Decorate cookies shaped as numbers for your child's age with royal icing. In this case, a white "2" cookie is perfect for a second birthday, bringing a personalized touch to the table.
Mickey Head Cookies: Use black icing for the Mickey-shaped cookies, adding an elegant and classic touch. Wrap each cookie individually in clear bags for easy grab-and-go treats, or as take-home favors!
Or just make them for yourself! I used mini Oreos and large Oreos to create Mickey-shaped heads
To keep it simple, you can even buy pre-made cookies and decorate them with Mickey-shaped icing or edible toppers if you’re short on time. These cookies are bound to bring a smile to every little face at the party!
Hot Diggity Dogs" Corn Dogs
For a savory option, these corn dogs fit right into the Mickey theme with a playful reference to Mickey’s classic song, "Hot Dog!" Set up a small sign or lightbox with "HOT DIGGITY DOGS" to tie in the theme.
Serve the corn dogs with ketchup and mustard in bright-colored bowls for dipping. If you want to add some Disney character figurines, like Mickey, Goofy, and Pluto, as decorations around the setup, it’s a fun way to make the table feel like a mini-Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!
We’ve Got Ears, Say Cheers” Welcome Station
Nothing says "Mickey Party" like Mickey ears! We set up a welcome station where guests could grab their own pair of Mickey or Minnie ears. This adorable addition makes everyone feel like part of the Clubhouse and doubles as a great party favor. We paired the ears with a handmade “We’ve Got Ears, Say Cheers” sign to set the vibe.

DIY Tip: Use black foam or felt for making custom Mickey ears, or pick up affordable headbands online. Adding polka-dot bows makes them perfect for Minnie Mouse fans!

Colouring Station for Little Artists
To keep the kids entertained, we had a Mickey-themed coloring station set up with a variety of character coloring sheets and markers. The yellow table cover with Mickey’s gloves, shoes, and ears added to the festive feel and kept things clean and organized.

Activity Idea: Consider adding Mickey Mouse puzzles, themed crafts, or a small photo booth with Mickey props for more activities that little ones will love.
