F.R.I.E.N.D.S: A Monica-Inspired Laundry Makeover

Turning laundry into something to look forward to? Challenge accepted — and accomplished!

I've been on a mission to bring more character and joy into the everyday corners of our home, and this laundry space was ready for a serious glow-up. Inspired by the cozy chaos of Monica Geller’s iconic kitchen from FRIENDS, I blended bold colours, playful contrasts, and some budget-friendly tricks to create a laundry area that’s both charming and totally me.

Monica’s kitchen is all about color confidence and fun. I took inspiration from her signature purple walls and teal cabinetry. I brought in those bold FRIENDS-inspired vibes with vibrant turquoise lower cabinets, soft cream uppers, and a splash of white subway tile wallpaper for that timeless backsplash look. I added new handles to the cabneits doors

Brick Walls & Budget Smarts

That charming exposed brick? Not real! It’s peel-and-stick wallpaper, and it adds SO much texture and warmth without the commitment (or dust). By removing the front doors to the cabinet, it give me the open shelving I was hoping for. Placing the wallpaper on the back on the cabniet allows it to blend into the wall.

Same goes for the faux butcher-block countertop wallpaper — a game-changer for anyone who wants the look of wood without the expense.
