Love Basket

Creating a Love Basket for My Boys

Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to surprise my little loves with a basket full of goodies—double of everything, of course, or they will fight over it! #brothers

Showcasing Our Love Basket

This year, I leaned into their love for those adorably weird little creatures—axolotls! With their soft pink color, they fit perfectly with the Valentine’s theme while still feeling totally them.

What’s Inside Our Love Basket?

Every item in the basket was chosen with my boys in mind. Here’s what I included:

  • A Heartfelt Note – A little reminder of how much they mean to me.

  • Chocolate & Love Potions – Sweet treats from Athabasca to make the day extra special.

  • Hot Wheels – Picked up from Save-On-Foods or Independent, because no basket is complete without a new car to race!

  • Valentine’s Book – A thrift store find to add to their growing collection.

  • Checkered Heart Pajamas – Because cozy PJs make every occasion better.

  • Axolotl Stuffy & Keychain – My favorite finds! These two are obsessed with keychains, and I just know they’re going to love having one with my heart on it.

Why I Love This Tradition

Creating little moments like this for my boys makes my heart so full. Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be grand—it’s about making them feel special and loved in small, meaningful ways. Whether it’s a random surprise or a holiday treat, these little touches remind them just how much they mean to me.

How You Can Make One Too

Putting together a Love Basket is simple and fun! Here are some tips to make it extra special:

  • Think About Their Interests – Whether it’s cars, animals, or books, tailor it to what they love.

  • Mix Practical with Fun – Cozy pajamas, a new book, and a fun toy create a great balance.

  • Keep It Simple – Thoughtfulness goes a long way, and even small surprises can make a big impact.

This Valentine’s Day, I’m cherishing these little moments and the joy they bring to my boys. How do you make Valentine’s Day special for your kids? Let me know in the comments!
